COOLIDGE, Antigua – Both West Indies “A” and India settled for valuable match practice before calling it quits at tea in their Tour Match here.
There was little for either side to celebrate on the relaxed final day of the three-day contest at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, except for half-centuries for Hanuma Vihari and Ajinkya Rahane before the Indians declared their second innings on 189 for five inside the first hour after lunch.
Jamaica Scorpions off-spinner Akim Fraser was the most successful “A” Team bowler, taking 2-43 from 17 overs, as he and fellow spinner Khary Pierre had extended spells before lunch.
West Indies “A” reached 47 for three in their second innings before the two sides brought an early close to the contest.
This was the only match preparation for the visitors before they face Jason Holder and the #MenInMaroon in the first MyTeam11 Test, co-sponsored by Skoda and KEI, starting on Thursday at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground here.
