KINGSTON, JAMAICA – The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) heartily congratulates the Saint Lucia Kings on winning the 2024 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
Saint Lucia Kings (SLK) won their maiden CPL title on Sunday, October 6, 2024, by defeating the 2023 champions, the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW). The Kings finished at the top of the table in the group stage, won their qualifier match to head straight to the final, and then won the final by six (6) wickets, having successfully chased a target of 139 set by the Warriors.
“Congratulations to the Saint Lucia Kings on their maiden Caribbean Premier League title. The Kings exploits throughout this year’s tournament were certainly deserving of the trophy, and we wish the team as well as the management and support staff continued success”, said WIPA President and CEO, Wavell Hinds. “Furthermore, WIPA commends the entire Caribbean Premiere League (CPL) and Cricket West Indies (CWI) teams on staging another successful tournament, and we look forward to our continued partnership in this and other endeavours”, remarked Hinds.
